Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I get past the first room of the Royal Family's Tomb?

A. If you have to ask this question, then you must be new to the Zelda Series. Those of us who have played the Zelda games since Zelda 1 can most likely remember getting stuck in a room full of creatures and the only way out is to kill all of them. So if that didn't make sense, then just kill the 4 bats in the first room of the Royal Family's Tomb.

Q. How do I get the sinking lure?

A. It's hidden in a few spots in the fishing pond. It is absolutely invisible until you pick it up, but you'll know when you do, Because Link will hold it over his head like a piece of heart or something. Anyways, the 4 places I've found it are: 1) On top of the big log in the pond, 2) There is a little stream in back, and the lure is to the right of a rock leaning against the wall next to that stream. 3) Still near the stream, but actually in the pond, there are a few rocks, check around those. 4) against the wall, just run along the perimiter until you find it.

 Q. How do I lower the water in the Water Temple once I have already risen it?

A. It still amazes me how many times I'm asked this question. The answer is increadibly self explanatory. Just lower it the same exact way you did it the first time!!! In case you forgot, from the big room of the water temple, find the hallway entrance with a torch on both sides. Go down the hallway, and when you reach the room at the end, float upwards. Then play Zelda's Lullaby to the Triforce sign on the wall.

 Q. How do I unfreeze Zora's Domain?

A. You can't unfreeze it. Anything you hear about unfreezing Zora's Domain is a lie.

Q. How do I get 999 Rupees?

A. You can't get that many. Anything you hear about 999 Rupees is a lie. (That was practically the same answer as the last question!)

Q. How do I get the Gold Scale?

A. Get to the fishing pond as an adult, either with the Scarecrow song, or the magic bean plant (Or swim over if you've beat the water temple). Then you have to beat the record you set there as a kid, or if you didn't set a record there as a kid, break the owner's record twice.

Q. What is UltraHLE, and where can I get UltraHLE and the Zelda 64 ROM?

A. UltraHLE is a software prog for Windows that lets you play N64 games on the computer. You need at least a 233 mhz (mine is 300) and a 3DFX card (I have a Voodoo 2). If you are interested in downloading it, you can find UltraHLE at www.emuhq.com. As for the Z64 ROM, you're on your own. The place I got it from doesn't exist anymore, and I don't know any other places to get it from. Plan on searching all day, N64 roms are hard to find.

Q. How do I get more than 99 Rupees?

A. You have to kill at least 10 Gold Skulltulas. Then, in Kakariko Village, there is a house called the "House of Skulltula". Inside is a family that has been cursed to look like Spiders. If you kill 10 Skulltulas, one of the kids will return to a Hylian. Talk to him and he'll give you an Adult's Wallet. It holds 200 Rupees. Every time you kill 10 more, another kid will return to normal, and each one gives you something. After 30 Skulltulas, you can get a Giant's Wallet, and it holds 500, which is the max.

Q. How do I keep playing after I defeat Ganon? Is there a way to wander around Hyrule after beating the game?

A. Nope, you can't ( For some strange reason, the programmers decided to make a great game with a bad ending. The ending scene wasn't that bad I thought (most people I know hate the ending) but it really pissed me off that you can't save at the end, and are forced to reset the machine to play again, and because of that, you are back in time playing before you have defeated Ganon.

Q. How do I get the Scarecrow Song? I need it to get through the Fire Temple!

A. You can make this one up yourself. As Young Link, go to Lake Hylia. Stand in front of the scarecrow closest to the lake and take out your ocarina and he'll ask you to play a song for him. Play him an EIGHT NOTE song. Make sure you remember what it is. If you forget, just start this process all over with another song. Now, as Adult Link, take out your ocarina in front of the scarecrow again. He'll ask you to play him the song again. After you play him the same song you played him as a kid, it will be set as the Scarecrow Song. If you play this song in certain places in Hyrule as Adult Link, the other scarecrow (Pierre) will pop up, and then you can hookshot onto him and access an area that you couldn't get to normally (If Navi flies to a spot and turns green, this might be one of those spots where you can use the Scarecrow Song). Also, you don't need the Scarecrow Song to get through the Fire Temple, but if you have it, you can access a secret area.

Q. How do I go back in time?

A. First beat the Forest Temple. Then go to the Temple of Time. Shiek will then talk to you, and give you instructions on how to become a kid again.

Q. How do I beat the Running Man from Gerudo Valley?

A. Click Here

Q. How do I get the Triforce??

A. You cannot. It was just an absurd rumour.
